Ironman d'Hawaii, départ incertain pour Mike Aigroz

A 18 heures du départ, Mike Aigroz est touché par le sort. Il est affecté par un méchant virus depuis 3 jours et souffre de forte fièvre. Même s'il se sent un peu mieux ce matin, le départ demain de l'Ironman de Kailua-Kona est très incertain.

Après un bloc de 4 semaines d'entraînement très intense, la dernière semaine est traditionnellement consacrée au repos. Les défenses immunitaires s'abaissent en même temps que la pression monte. L'athlète est alors à la merci du moindre petit microbe.

Mike reste attaché aux valeurs qui le caractérisent. Il ne prendra pas de risque avec sa santé et décidera donc demain matin à l'aube de s'aligner ou pas au départ. Deux options se présenteront alors : l'état de Mike lui permet d'envisager de finir la course, auquel cas il prendra la départ. Dans le cas contraire, il devra malheureusement renoncer. A 6h00 les jeux seront faits. Croisons les doigts.

Ironman of Hawaii, Mike Aigroz unsure for tomorrow

18 hours before the start, Mike Aigroz is touched by the fate. Since Tuesday, he is affected by a bad virus and suffers from fever. Although his condition has slightly improved this morning, his chances to participate tomorrow in the Ironman of Kailua-Kona are low.

After a very intense 4-week training period, the week before the race is usually dedicated to rest. The immune system weakens, as the pressure of the event grows. The athlete is then exposed to the tiniest germ.

Mike is attached to values, which have characterized his person for long. He will not endanger his health in any way, and thus will decide tomorrow at dawn whether or not he will take place on the starting line. At that stage, there will be two options: 1. Mike feels his physical condition allows him to complete the full race, in which case he will be running, 2. otherwise he will be forced to give up. At 6:00am the die will be cast. Fingers crossed.
